With a tag line that reads “Heaven on a spoon,” you know that it has to be good. In fact, this is the tag line for Lombardo’s Gelato. Located in Tempe’s Arizona Mills Mall in a kiosk, this mall restaurant is famous for its gelato flavors that are out of this world. When it came time to add restaurant menu board signs for malls in Tempe, AZ, the company’s management team contacted Spotlight Signs and Imaging Solutions. We visited the site and discussed the artwork with the client.
The Need for Restaurant Signs and Menu Boards
Clarity and brevity are crucial when it comes to displaying product information in a mall setting. For Lombardo’s Gelato, we created a black on white menu board with the iconic orange company name and logo on the top. But we did not stop there. We recreated the logo and name with orange dimensional lettering on the side of the menu board cube. This brands the store and provides an area of visual interest in a setup that is dominated by black and white color combinations. The overhead menu board displays an expanded menu version and once again the orange name and logo are clearly visible.
The overall signage is eye-grabbing and stands out among other mall restaurant signs, Tempe, AZ, eatery owners have chosen in the location. It is easy to find the venue and then read the menu board overhead or displayed to the sides of the setup.
