A Little About St. Juan Diego Church
Located on South Cooper Road in Chandler, St. Juan Diego Church is the newest addition to St. Mary’s Parish serving Chandler and the surrounding regions. Established in 1937, the parish currently has more than 4,700 families. With such a large membership, St. Mary’s flagship church was getting a little crowded, so as early as 2004 they began planning the construction of St. Juan. For its first Mass on May 7th of this year, it was standing room only in the building equipped to seat 930 parishioners.
We were proud to help with exterior and interior church signs in Chandler, AZ when St. Juan Diego contacted us. They wanted their new facility to be inviting and ready to go from their first mass. Thankfully, they called the right sign company for the job.
How We Helped St. Juan
The first thing we did was meet with representatives from St. Mary’s Parish to find out what they had in mind for their new location. It took over a decade to raise the funds for the church, and they weren’t ready to spend it frivolously. They wanted distinguished and affordable exterior and interior signs. Based on their ideas and budget, we recommended a number of options. They chose PVC lettering for their exterior sign and plaques for their restroom signs. Once they approved the designs we provided them with, we got down to work.
For the exterior lettering, the letters were cut from PVC using a font that projected tradition and professionalism without being flashy. The interior signs were going for a similar aesthetic. The restroom doors were made of wood so we added a wood grain look to the signs to match the décor. Once the markers were ready, we scheduled a time to install them when we would not get in the way of church functions. In the end, they were happy with the job we did, and their first Mass was a huge success.
